Movie-Still Monday – Oscar Edition: Glenn Close

This year, Glenn Close earned her seventh Oscar nomination for her role in The Wife.  She received her second nominated for her role in The Big Chill.  Though the film is truly and ensemble piece, Close is a standout for her role as Sarah, the friend and former lover of recently deceased college friend, Alex (a never seen Kevin Costner). Her vulnerability shines through in number of scenes, particularly the one of her sobbing in the shower just after Alex’s funeral.
