What? No Marvel nor DC superhero films opening this June? I feel a tiny bit faint, but not to worry, we have a ton of good and maybe some not so good reasons for you to go and enjoy your local movie theater – The Conjuring 2, The Fits, Independence Day: Resurgence, Free State of Jones and Finding Dory just to name a few. So whether you choose to checkout that indie movie you’ve heard so much about, or the latest big studio release, don’t forget to click on the movie title below to view the trailer. Our Two Cents: This seems as goofy and absurd as the first one.

Andron (Limited)

Synopsis: A group of people are plunged into a dark, claustrophobic maze, where they must fight to survive, as the outside world watches.
Our Two Cents:  I’m not sure if it’ll be any good at all.

Approaching the Unknown (Limited)

Stars:  Mark Strong, Sanaa Lathan, Luke Wilson
Directed By: Mark Elijah Rosenberg
Synopsis: An American astronaut prepares for a mission to Mars.
Our Two Cents: This is really a one-man show and I am a fan of Mark strong.

The Fits (Limited)


Stars:  Royalty Hightower, Alexis Neblett, Inayah Rodgers
Directed By:  Anna Rose Holmer
Synopsis: While training at the gym 11-year-old tomboy Toni becomes entranced with a dance troupe. As she struggles to fit in she finds herself caught up in danger as the group begins to suffer from fainting spells and other violent fits.
Our Two Cents: I’ve seen the film and definitely recommend it.

Time to Choose (Limited)

Synopsis: Documentary filmmaker Charles Ferguson turns his lens to address worldwide climate change challenges and solutions.
Our Two Cents: It focuses on the many people around the world actually coming up with and implementing creative solutions to the climate problem.

Synopsis: A weekend getaway takes a dangerous turn when a mysterious nightclub owner (Pierce Brosnan) introduces a group of friends to a new designer drug. Stripped of their inhibitions, they start living out their wildest fantasies – but what starts out as a fun night of partying quickly turns deadly, as the island paradise deteriorates into a tropical madhouse. Our Two Cents: I’m curious about the water and umbrellas, but not much more.

Our Two Cents: Looks like for anyone who loves filmmakers or the art of making movies, this is a must see documentary.

Genius (Limited)

Synopsis: A chronicle of Max Perkins’s time as the book editor at Scribner, where he oversaw works by Thomas Wolfe, Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald and others.

Synopsis: A loving father finds a clown suit for his son’s birthday party, only to realize that it is not a suit at all.
Our Two Cents: I’m just too scared pf clowns to even comment.

The Last King (Limited)

Independence Day: Resurgence

Synopsis: Two decades after the first Independence Day invasion, Earth is faced with a new extra-Solar threat. But will mankind’s new space defenses be enough?
Our Two Cents: No one was asking for this sequel, but it looks like it might bet better than I thought at least. I can always go see some Jeff Goldblum. Just sayin.

NUTS! (Limited)

Our Two Cents: Totally wacky, almost unbelievable true story documentary.

The Shallows

Synopsis: A mere 200 yards from shore, surfer Nancy is attacked by a great white shark, with her short journey to safety becoming the ultimate contest of wills.
Our Two Cents: I’m a sucker for a big mean shark movie.
