Movie-Still Monday – Oscar Snubs: Emma Thompson & Tom Hanks

Tom Hanks’ (Captain Phillips) absence from the Best Actor list is understandable in a year of very strong lead actors performances. Thompson’s omission from the Best Actress category feels more like a snub. The Oscar nomination went to Dame Dench (Philomenia), who was just being her familiar ol’ warm hearted, Judi Dench self–consistently good, never stretching too far–she’s just Judi, and this is no real Oscar worthy performance.
