Media For Lunch: Your Entertainment Fix in 15 minutes or less: Pusher

Pusher (2012) opened this past Friday, October 26, in limited release. Directed by Luis Prieto, it is a movie based on an amazing Danish film trilogy by Nicolas Winding Refn (Drive).

The original Pusher (1996), a violent, moving, story becoming a cult classic, established Refn as a filmmaker to watch. Following Pusher, Refn returned to the underworld in 2004 with Pusher II: With Blood on My Hands; while 2005 saw the release of Pusher III: I’m The Angel of Death. The resulting trilogy stands as a brilliant reinvention of international crime cinema, as human as it is brutal. The Pusher trilogy reveals the humanity in even the most violent criminals, and how all pushers are only one bad deal away from their doom. Please do yourself a favor, and catch the Pusher trilogy streaming on Amazon. You won’t regret it.  – MD
