Director Robert Altman’s war film is the definition of satire, M*A*S*H (which also eventually become a TV show of the same name) dealt with the atrocities of war with humor, showing it all from the point of view of a medical unit. Sometimes comedy is the best way to deal with tragedy which explains the partying, womanizing, and gambling that run rampant throughout the film.
