Movie-Still Monday: The Lion in Winter

Perhaps an odd choice for a Christmas movie yet, fitting as we remember Peter O’Toole. It’s Christmas, year 1183, and King Henry II (O’Toole) allows his wife, Eleanor of Aquitaine (Katherine Hepburn), out of imprisonment for the holidays. Back home with her husband and three sons, much bickering, scheming, and intrigue ensue proving family holiday gatherings haven’t changed much in over 800 years.
