MoviefiedNYC’s New York Film Festival Round Up

The 51st New York Film Festival took place at the Film Society Lincoln Center from September 27 through October 13, 2013. MoviefiedNYC along with a lucky few journalists, writers, and bloggers were on hand to attend some of the exclusive early screenings and press conferences with both the film’s directors and stars.

We here at MoviefiedNYC did our best to take in every single screening we could, including: documentaries, shorts, indie films, feature films. We were backstage and behind the scenes at one of New York’s most exciting events, with exclusive screenings and press conference to everything from the real life Dog Day Afternoon documentary The Dog to Ben Stiller’s  Kristen Wiig holiday feature, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, to this year’s Cannes favorite, Blue is the Warmest Color.

One press conference featured Olivia Wilde,  Spike Jonze, Amy Adams, Rooney Mara, and Joaquin Phoenix all in one room, while another press conference featured a Los Angeles bound James Franco chatting via Skype with the press in NY. We listened to Tom Hanks make fun of journalists, Tilda Swinton talk about the joys of working with Jim Jarmusch, Ben Stiller describe the process of both directing and acting, and Steve McQueen explain his casting choices. It was an experience that will be remembered and treasured by all involved. Thanks to all the many organizers, ushers, ticket givers whose hard work and dedication, collectively, made this year’s NYFF a truly remarkable experience.
