Carrie opens this October, it’s always been one of my favorite horror novels, movie, and yes musicals for as long as I can remember. Carrie (2013) directed by Kimberly Pierce starring Chloë Moretz and Julianne Moore released its first trailer this week. Carrie (2013) is a remake of the 1976 film Carrie directed by Brian De Palma and based on Stephen King’s acclaimed debut novel. But let me warn you before you watch it, it is completely spoiler filled. Now, I think you must have been living under a rock to not know how the third act of Carrie turns out but just in case, you have been warned. I will tell you that Carrie White remains the victim of bullying, her aggressors have been updated with iPhones to make them even a little more hateful. Her mom, played by Julianne Moore, is just as creepy as in 1976, and the prom goes pretty much like how you remember it (if you have seen it, that is). Here is a new little twist, the trailer ends with a dare to “call Carrie” at 207-404-2604. Are you going to?

Now just for fun, below are the poster and trailer for Brian De Palma’s 1976 horror classic Carrie starring Sissy Spacek, Piper Laurie, and John Travolta in a small but memorable roll.
One level deeper into my Carrie obsession – THE MUSICAL!
