With director Wong Kar-Wai’s The Grandmaster opening this week, I couldn’t help but to revisit my favorite film of his Chungking Express, a movie about two love-struck cops filmed in impressionistic splashes of motion and color, truly a feast for the eyes.
The Grandamaster is Wong Kar Wai’s epic action feature inspired by the life and times of the legendary kung fu master, Ip Man. Filmed in a range of stunning locations that include the snow-swept landscapes of Northeast China and the subtropical South, promises to also be a visual masterpiece.
