2013 Oscar Nominations

It’s great that Jessica Chastain was nominated for a Golden Globe and a SAG
but what everyone really wants to know is will she win the Oscar?

After weeks of endless excitement over the various year-end critics’ awards, top 10 lists, and second-tier awards like SAG, Golden Globe, and Independent Spirit, the day has finally arrived: the nominations are here, revealing the names of those who might be crowned King and Queen of America’s biggest Prom—the Academy Awards. As expected Lincoln led the list with twelve nominations, Spielberg included. The biggest surprise wasn’t the nomination of nine-year-old Quvenzhane Wallis for best actress (youngest ever!), it was the blatant snub of Ben Affleck and Kathryn Bigelow for Best Directors.
