Moviefied’s Guilty-Pleasure Movie: End Of Days (1999)

Moviefied shares our reader’s dirty little secrets, their favorite guilty-pleasure movie. This week we share George Bell’s guilty pleasure, End of Days.

When you think of Arnold Schwarzenegger, movies like The Terminator, Predator, and Total Recall instantly come to mind. Rightly so, but I have an underrated gem of his in mind as my guilty pleasure: End of Days. The first thing I love about it is the older, darker, angrier Arnold. His character’s introduction comes as he’s about to commit suicide, so it’s pretty clear the camp will be low right from the get-go. Throw in some Vatican assassins, Gabriel Byrne as Satan, and Kevin Pollak as Arnold’s partner, and you have all the ingredients of a really good thriller. The movie isn’t perfect, as the ending is a bit unnecessary, but if you’re looking for an Arnold minus all the catch-phrases and one-liners and you’re into stories about the Antichrist, End of Days should fit the bill perfectly.
