Media For Lunch – Your entertainment fix in 15 minutes or less: In Memory of Tony Scott

Tony Scott

Tony Scott’s films were always more popular with audiences than with critics, and at the end of the day, isn’t that what making movies should be about: entertaining audiences? A creative, visionary, known for his frenetic style, he taught many of us, at least me, the joy of going to a blockbuster. He was responsible for iconic films such as The Hunger, Top Gun, The Last Boy Scout, True Romance, Crimson Tide, Enemy of the State, Spy Game, Man on Fire and Unstoppable. A quick glance at Tony Scott’s IMDB page lets you know you we have lost a force in the film and television industry, with 24 directing credits and 49 producing credits to his name. Those will be some big shoes to fill. When the dust of his passing settles, I wonder which title out of his filmography will emerge as the quintessential Tony Scott film – Domino, Deja Vu or maybe even True Romance?

Mr. Scott, thank you for all the hours of entertainment. You definitely made the popcorn taste better.  ~MD
